Abraham Aldama

MANAGER, DATA AND EVALUATION

Abraham (he/him) is a behavioral and political scientist working with Vote Rev and Vote Rev Action Fund’s research team. As a Manager of Data and Evaluation, he works to design, test, and evaluate tactics that will increase turnout from historically disenfranchised voters. Passionate about understanding human behavior, Abraham aims to deploy state of the art tools to uncover what barriers hinder people from voting and how these barriers can be overcome.

Abraham joined our team from the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Social Norms and Behavioral Dynamics, where he taught classes and conducted experimental research, among others, on the determinants of people’s welfare and immigration policy preferences. Previous to working at Penn, Abraham obtained a PhD, an MPhil, and an MA in Politics from New York University, where some of his research included analyzing the impact of emotions on people’s decision to join collective action. His research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals. Before graduate school, Abraham worked as a consultant in the development of infrastructure projects through public-private partnerships.

Originally from Mexico City, Abraham grew up in Princeton, NJ and Cuernavaca, Morelos. He holds two licenciaturas (B.A.) from ITAM in Mexico City, one in Economics and one in Political Science. He lives in New York City, with his wife, and their lovely ginger cat, Aslan. In his free time, Abraham can be found lamenting the failures of the KC Chiefs and the NY Mets and exploring NYC’s culinary scene.
