Alfonso Alfaro
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
As Director of Operations, Alfonso (he/him), leads the team responsible for building and maintaining financial, operational, and people systems that power Vote Rev and Vote Rev Action Fund’s programmatic success. With a deep commitment to fostering a strong, mission-aligned team culture, Alfonso ensures the infrastructure across both organizations is strategic, sustainable, and built for long term impact.
Alfonso began his career as a Field Deputy for a member of Congress, serving as a community liaison and advocate, supporting constituent services and local engagement in Southeast Los Angeles County. He then joined the Immigration Center for Women and Children (ICWC), where as Controller he managed the organization’s administrative, HR, and financial operations. It was there that Alfonso discovered his passion for organizational management, recognizing the role that strong internal systems play in enabling mission-driven work to flourish.
He continued his work in nonprofit leadership at Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), serving as Chief Operating Officer and later Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Alfonso oversaw daily operations and strategic initiatives across all departments—operations, administration, finance, fundraising, programs, and communications—to advance HOLA’s mission to empower underserved youth in Los Angeles.
Alfonso holds a BA in Spanish and Community and Culture from UCLA. A life-long Angeleno, he grew up in South Central Los Angeles and now resides in Southeast LA County. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and dog, reading fiction, and traveling.
